This was part of a lo-poly modelling and texture painting workshop I recently held. The main focus was on economic topology, uv layouts and hand painted textures. Similar to the art found in MMO's such as World of Warcraft.
This was a game asset I recently made to sell on the new asset store for the Unity3d engine. It was a good exercise in mechanical modelling and photoreal game art. (things I rarely get to do nowadays :). It will be good to test the waters of the asset store too! The gun weighs in at just under 6k tris. There is also a LO poly/LOD version too...
